Dream Downsizer... now open to view
Empty nesters rejoice! Riverstone Custom Homes' dream downsizer, the Lakebreeze, is now open to view in Perry Lakes.
Built for clients who want to spend more time exploring the world than they do mowing the garden and cleaning the house, this chic and supremely comfortable three-bedroom home marries luxury with low-maitenance living.
It's packed with slick little details that are both stylish and functional, while the clever layout provides versatile spaces that can adapt as the occasion arises.
This means that although the Lakbreeze has been tailor-made for two, it also copes happily when the rest of the family descends or friends come to stay.
Paul Marshall, director at Riverstone Custom Homes, says the clients wanted a deluxe downsizer specifically suited to their needs.
"We're the first to say this isn't a home for a young couple or a family," Paul says. "This is a dedicated empy nester, which makes it a very specific design."
The home can be built from $650,000, but the sky's the limit in terms of the fixtures, fittings and finishes each client decides to select.
Illustrating the secrets of good downsizer design, the Perth luxury home builder has highlighted flexibility, function, easy maintenance, thoughtful storage and space where it counts the most - all in a single-storey floorplan.
Add the five-star finish, beautiful natural materials such as French travertine, spotted gum timber, limestone, and a desiger's eye for detail, and this is a very impressive home indeed.
Filled with natural light, it's also a deceptively spacious home given that it's been built on a wedge-shaped corner block of just 372sqm.
By making the most of every available square metre, the ingenious designers at Riverstone Custom Homes have been able to create a roomy three-bedroom, two-bathroom residence with an open-plan living area, adaptable multi-purpose room, contemporary kitchen and adjoining laundry, an alfresco, 678-bottle wine cellar, double garage, workshop and a deluxe master bedroom with huge dressing room.
High raking ceilings and highlight windows boost the sense of space in key areas, while big picture windows and banks of glass sliding doors draw the eye outside and ensure a strong indoor/outdoor connection.
Outside the dining room window, a large vertical garden fills the view with a mass of variegated green foilage, all watered via an automated irrigation system for easy care.
With versatility andspace-enhacing abilities in mind, the designers of this luxury home have added a sliding wall of glass between the nifty multi-purpose room and the main living area. When closed, the sliding glass doors soundproof the room and zone it for air-conditioning purposes. When open, the space readily becomes part of the everyday living area.
Demonstrating just how multi-purpose a multi-purpose room can be, the designers have added a built-in desk and a wall of built-in bookcases and cupboards. The result is an inviting retreat for reading, time on the computer, watching TV, or listening to music.
Equally, it's a great place for the grandkids to hang out as toys can be quickly packed away in the cupboards when peace descends again.
The custom home builder's attention to detail includes white-painted timber panelling, feature walls in limestone and others in slim red brick, a custom-designed bookcase in the dining room featuring polished French travertine and Spotted Gum, and a dedicated cupboard for the computer server and AV equipment, neatly concealed behind what looks like a Spotted Gum feature wall.
"If someone wants a home that's not cookie-cutter, then that's what we specialise in," Paul says.
The Lakebreeze, on Tomlinson Way, Perry Lakes, is open to view on Wed, Sat, Sun from 2-5pm.
