Three generations of the same family live within the stone-clad walls of this luxury City Beach home, designed and built by RiverStone Custom Homes.

Set high on the hill, commanding spectacular ocean views, it delivers several independent living spaces, spacious bedroom suites, a spectacular indoor/outdoor area and a five-star alfresco alongside a gas-heated swimming pool.

“Like all our designs, this one needed to be very specific,” says Paul Marshall, director at RiverStone Custom Homes.

“It needed to have a private wing for grandma, plenty of space for the children, a resort-style entertaining area and a top-end specification – all while making the most of the panoramic ocean views.”

A five-bedroom, five-bathroom design, it has been stepped over three levels so that it nestles into the sloping corner block and maximises the enviable location.

Big banks of double-glazed windows, vast stacker doors and several balconies all help capture the outlook, where fishing boats, yachts, kite-surfers and distant container ships are part of the ever-changing vista.

Emulating the twists and turns of a river, the landscaping follows the natural contours of the block, while a curved roofline, timber accents, cobblestone paving and stone feature walls highlight the natural, organic appeal of this home.

“The horizontal Toodyay fieldstone was painstakingly hand-laid by a skilled stonemason and is a stunning addition,” Paul says.

“There’s a natural warmth to this home – both inside and out – that makes it very inviting.”

Making a statement in the entry hallway is a lush living wall of plants, while a double-storey void adds extra impact and a custom-made bench conceals smart storage.

A vast cavity sliding door glides effortlessly to one side, leading into grandma’s private suite of rooms. Thanks to RiverStone Custom Homes’ accessible design considerations, which also include a lift servicing all three levels, grandma can get around easily in her wheelchair.

Also on the middle floor of the home are the kitchen and main indoor/outdoor living area, leading out to the pool deck and luxury alfresco with its built-in barbecue, pizza oven, custom-made cedar cabinetry and glass splashback.

Demonstrating faultless attention to detail, this deluxe home includes an impressive list of bespoke finishing touches, including motorised curtains and blinds that can be operated at the touch of a button, an internal water feature, and a barely-there staircase with a metal spine, timber treads and a glass balustrade.

There’s an ironing station in the laundry, Miele appliances and Liebherr appliances in the kitchen, pull-out larder cupboards in the scullery, underfloor heating and heated towel rails in the master bathroom, custom-designed cedar cabinets in the study, solar panels to generate electricity and a ‘comms room’ to keep key technology in one place.

“This residence is an excellent example of how RiverStone Custom Homes can exceed the expectations of a client’s very individual wish-list,” Paul says.
